By signing up, paying, activating, or using a membership, you're agreeing to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't sign up or use the service.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We've tried to keep these Terms short, clear, and on the level. They're still a legal contract — so read them properly.
1. What JIC Insider is
JIC Insider is a membership that gets you discounts and deals at participating venues and businesses ("Vendors") in the Whitsunday region — mostly in and around Airlie Beach and Cannonvale, Queensland. We also sell physical welcome packs (JIC Box, JIC Queen, JIC Pouch) that include a membership period.
We're not a Vendor ourselves. We negotiate offers with Vendors on your behalf and give you a platform to find and redeem them.
1.1 What a membership is
- Access to the current catalogue of Vendor offers.
- The right to redeem those offers on the terms shown for each deal.
- Access to member-only features as we release them.
1.2 What a membership is not
- A guarantee that any specific deal will be available at any specific time.
- A guarantee that any specific Vendor will participate for the duration of your membership.
- A right to combine offers with other promotions — each deal tells you whether it can be combined.
- A discount voucher, store credit, or financial product.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to buy a membership or create an account. By signing up, you're confirming you're 18 or older. We can ask for proof of age, and we'll close any account where we reasonably believe the holder is under 18.
3. Sign-up, account, and security
Give us accurate information at sign-up. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
You can't share your account, membership card, key fob, or activation code with anyone else — memberships and codes are personal and non-transferable.
4. Pricing, GST, and payment
4.1 Prices
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies. Current pricing is on the Site. We can change prices for future periods, but anything you've already paid for is locked in at the price you paid.
4.2 Payment
Payments go through Stripe. When you enter your card details, you're authorising the charge for the plan or product you've picked. We don't see or store your card details — see section 5.1 of our Privacy Policy for the detail.
4.3 Currency conversion
If your card is issued outside Australia, your bank may add a currency conversion fee. That's between you and your bank.
5. Subscription and auto-renewal
5.1 How auto-renewal works
Subscription memberships keep going automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Stripe charges the card on file for each renewal.
5.2 Heads-up before annual renewals
For annual memberships, we'll email you at least 14 days before your renewal date as a reminder. For shorter cycles (weekly, monthly, three-monthly) we don't send individual reminders — the cycle is short and clearly disclosed at sign-up.
5.3 Cancelling future renewals
You can cancel future renewals at any time by either:
- Visiting the Stripe Customer Portal via the link in any payment receipt or in your account page; or
- Emailing support@jicinsider.com from your registered email address.
Once you cancel, you keep access to your benefits until the end of the current paid period.
5.4 Refunds for elective cancellation
If you cancel mid-period for reasons that aren't JIC Insider's fault, your fees for the current billing period aren't refunded — but your access continues to the end of that period. That's the trade-off for being able to cancel future renewals any time.
6. Physical products (JIC Box, JIC Queen, JIC Pouch)
6.1 What you're paying for
Each physical pack is sold as one product — a one-week digital membership plus the physical items in the box. Once we've dispatched a pack, you can't return the physical items just because you've changed your mind. The consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law still apply to the goods (see section 12).
6.2 Delivery
We aim to dispatch within five business days of your order. Delivery is by Australia Post or a third-party courier. If something gets lost or damaged in transit, we'll help you trace it and re-send goods where required by law. Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered.
7. Activation codes, cards, and key fobs
7.1 Activation
Each physical card or key fob carries a unique activation code. You activate it on the Site to link the card or fob to your account. Activation also confirms the start date of any membership included with the product.
7.2 One-time use
Activation codes are for one-time activation only. Once a code is linked to an account, it's spent.
7.3 Non-transferable
Codes, cards, and fobs are personal to you. You can't sell, gift, or transfer them to anyone else.
7.4 Lost, stolen, or faulty items
If your card or fob is lost or stolen and it's not our fault, we're not required to replace it for free — but we may offer a replacement at cost. If the card or fob is faulty (it didn't work as it should), you're entitled to a free replacement under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 12).
8. Redeeming offers
8.1 How redemption works
You redeem an offer by showing your active membership in the JIC Insider app or web page to Vendor staff when you pay. The redemption is the moment Vendor staff verify your active membership — not before. Screenshots, cached pages, and expired sessions don't count.
8.2 Combining offers
Unless the deal says otherwise, you can't combine JIC Insider offers with other promotions, vouchers, or discounts.
8.3 Vendor terms and conduct
Each Vendor sets the terms of its own offer (availability, blackout times, product range). Vendors run their own businesses under their own policies, consistent with the law. We're not responsible for how a Vendor treats you, but if a Vendor refuses to honour a published JIC Insider deal, contact us and we'll step in.
9. Vendor offers, changes, and availability
9.1 Catalogue changes
The list of participating Vendors and offers changes over time. We can add, change, or remove deals. We don't guarantee that any specific offer or Vendor will be there for the whole length of your membership.
9.2 If a Vendor exits or changes its offer
If a Vendor leaves the program or significantly reduces its offer, you still get the rest of the catalogue. We don't partially refund membership fees just because one Vendor has changed its offer — unless the service as a whole drops below an acceptable standard, in which case you may have a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.
9.3 Flash drops
We may release limited-time "flash" offers. These are subject to availability and the specific terms shown at the time.
10. Service availability
JIC Insider is a web-based app (a progressive web app, or PWA). We aim to keep it running reliably but we can't guarantee zero downtime. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (like Stripe, Supabase, or Lovable), and force majeure events can cause downtime. We don't offer a formal service-level agreement at this stage. If a long outage stops you using the service for a meaningful period, you may have a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Member-generated content
11.1 Your content, your ownership
If you post a photo, review, or tag through JIC Insider, or send us content via social media or message, you keep ownership of it.
11.2 Licence you give us
You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that content for running and marketing JIC Insider — including reposting on our social channels. We won't use your full name or contact details in marketing without your specific consent.
11.3 Opting out
If you don't want us to use your content publicly, email info@jicinsider.com with "UGC opt-out" in the subject line. We'll stop using it and, where reasonably possible, take it down from our channels.
11.4 Standards for your content
Don't post content that's unlawful, defamatory, infringing, threatening, harassing, sexually explicit, or that identifies another person without their consent. We can remove content that breaches this clause.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law ("ACL"). In short:
- Goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for any purpose we have told you about, and match their description.
- Services must be supplied with due care and skill, fit for any purpose you have made known, and supplied within a reasonable time.
If a failure is major, you can choose a refund or replacement (for goods), or a refund of the unused portion of the service. For minor failures, we can choose to repair, replace, or re-supply within a reasonable time.
You're entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage caused by a failure of a consumer guarantee.
13. Our liability
13.1 Limit on our liability
To the extent permitted by law (and subject to section 12), our total liability to you in connection with these Terms and your use of JIC Insider is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13.2 What we're not responsible for
To the extent permitted by law:
- The conduct of Vendors — including the quality, safety, or availability of goods or services they supply directly to you.
- Loss caused by your failure to keep your login secure.
- Indirect, consequential, or business losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable.
- Outages or breaches caused by third-party providers (like Stripe, Supabase, Lovable, or ClickSend), except to the extent our own negligence contributed.
This section applies only as far as the law allows. Nothing in it limits your rights under the ACL or other laws that can't be excluded by contract.
14. Acceptable use and suspension
14.1 What you can't do
- Share your account, code, card, or fob with anyone else.
- Try to redeem a single-use offer more than once.
- Abuse, threaten, or harass Vendor staff or our staff.
- Use the Site to send spam, distribute malware, or commit fraud.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Site.
- Resell or commercially exploit your membership.
14.2 Suspension or termination
We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. If a breach is minor and fixable, we'll give you a reasonable chance to put it right first. If a breach is serious — fraud, threatening behaviour, repeated misuse — we can suspend or terminate immediately.
14.3 What happens on termination
If we terminate your account because of a serious breach, you don't get a refund for the current period. If you terminate by cancelling future renewals, section 5.4 applies.
15. Intellectual property
The JIC Insider name, logo, Site design, copy, and graphics belong to JIC Global Pty Ltd or its licensors. Don't copy, reproduce, or use them outside of normal use of the service without our written permission.
16. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. By using JIC Insider you agree to your information being handled as described in that Policy.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always at www.jicinsider.com/terms with the "Last updated" date at the top.
If we make a material change — anything affecting price, cancellation, refunds, or your substantive rights — we will:
- Email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect; and
- Give you the option to cancel your subscription and receive a pro-rata refund for any unused period if you don't accept the change.
Other changes (clarifications, typo fixes, contact updates) take effect when posted.
18. Charity contribution
A portion of membership revenue is donated to community partners, including Whitsunday Counselling and Support Inc. and the Airlie Beach Lifeguard Club. We make these contributions in good faith. We don't publish the exact percentage but we're happy to talk about it if you ask.
19. Disputes and complaints
19.1 Talk to us first
If you have a complaint, email support@jicinsider.com. We aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 14 days.
19.2 External options
If we can't resolve your complaint, you can contact:
- Queensland Office of Fair Trading — qld.gov.au/fairtrading.
- Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) — accc.gov.au.
- Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) — oaic.gov.au (privacy matters).
19.3 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. The courts of Queensland have non-exclusive jurisdiction to hear any disputes.
20. General
20.1 Entire agreement
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any deal-specific terms shown for individual offers are the whole agreement between you and us about JIC Insider.
20.2 Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
20.3 No waiver
If we don't enforce a clause on a particular occasion, that doesn't mean we've waived it.
20.4 Assignment
You can't transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We can transfer these Terms to a successor business (for example, on a sale or restructure), and we'll let you know if we do.
